The Lowdown on Sparky Dog…

The natural world has developed through millions of years, evolving and adapting to constant change and continuous reinvention allowing only the strongest of species survive. It’s only a rare and gifted few that possess the qualities and ability to continually strive for brilliance no matter what challenges an ever changing and uncertain musical landscape may present.
Mark Doggett is without question one of those rare and precious breeds who has continued to be a shining beacon of sonic excellence throughout a starlit musical career, spanning more than two decades and responsible for countless genre defining moments under his award winning K90 production and performing guise.
But time stands still for no one, a fact of life no more prominent than in the music industry yet nature has once again found a way. Step forward Sparky Dog, the next stage of evolution of the complete ‘uber’ producer and performer.
“I’ve managed to achieve everything I could have ever of dreamed of as K90, and then some and i’m truly proud of where my music has taken me. It’s for that reason that I made the conscious decision to leave the K90 legacy alone because it is precious to very many people for a whole load of different reasons. With Sparky Dog, I can be who I want to be again, I can experiment with new sounds, styles crossovers and other general ‘outside of the box’ stuff that my success with K90 would never allow, and to me that is very liberating! I’m as hungry now as I’ve ever been and right now don’t have enough waken hours to be able to process all the ideas I’ve got running around my head, so I’m really excited to see where the journey with Sparky Dog will take me!”
Mark is no stranger to the headlines, having starred at many major events and festivals around the world over a glittering career such as Global Gathering, Creamfields, Gatecrasher Summer Sound System and SW4 to name but a few. So maybe it should be no surprise that his latest incarnation drawn attention from some of the world’s biggest DJ’s such as David Guetta, Paul Oakenfold and Paul van Dyk.
2011 saw the release of several big hitting ‘A’ list supported singles and remixes on labels such as Discover Deep, Big in Ibiza and Mark’s own globally respected imprint Dataless Recordings. In 2012 Mark has taken his release tally a major leap forward with more than 10 single and remix titles hitting the streets as well as the now critically acclaimed debut artist album ‘Dog Day Afternoon’.
With album two already in production this new swathe of public interest and industry hype has once again catapulted Mark and his Sparky Dog guise into the limelight once again which is obviously the place he was born to be.
