The Lowdown on Stuart Wilkinson…

Stuart has been at the forefront of the dance music scene for over 15 years, learning his dj skills in his bedroom before moving to Bristol in 2000, he learned his promotional skills working for OutOfHand magazine before starting Empathy at Bar Latino, weekly Thursday night for 4years bringing an array of DJ’s from all over the world, often working with Bristol based Hope recordings, bringing Timo Maas, Adam Freeland, Locodice and Nick Warren to the party, Empathy was growing in popularity and in line so did Stuart’s DJ skills, improving to become one of the most popular djs in Bristol, although most of his gigs were in Europe as the interest in Uk DJ’s was at its peak. Empathy held a monthly residency at Industry55 for over a year, plus gigs in Turkey, Ibiza, Poland, Austria, N Ireland, Portugal, Cardiff and Birmingham, highlight’s being his association with Creamfields in Prague, playing 3 warm up parties, live on Europa2 Radio, the Creamfields festival itself and in 2009 playing in the West Dance tent at Glastonbury, Ministry of Sound’s 18th Birthday alongside Sasha in 2008 and Bedrock in London with John Digweed in 2007.

In 2005 Stuart moved Empathy to Timbuk2 in Bristol, putting on big names including Paolo Mojo, Hybrid, Guy Gerber, Lee Burridge, James Zabiela, Pete Heller, Dave Seaman, Meat Katie, with Stuart in support, pushing great underground music, from ambient beats to tech house to driving techno, he loves nothing better than playing to a dark groovy club playing hypnotic techy beats.
